Scorching weather, rainstorms that make Montreal feel like the jungle, and beautiful sunsets: summer is here in all its glory. Here a three beauty essentials that have helped me survive (so far).
Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water
I’ve been keeping this bottle in the fridge and spritzing my face with it after my morning run or after removing my makeup, or even to wet my makeup sponge. Why? It contains 15 minerals that help make your skin stronger against external aggressors, and regenerate faster. It’s so refreshing, especially when used cold! Why not slip it into your cooler when you head to the beach, or keep it with you by the pool?
$13 in pharmacies and at vichy.ca
Note: I am tempted to try to “refresh” Chababa with it… but she has claws.
Clarins UV 50 Day Screen Multi-Protection
It’s tempting to skip the sunscreen when you’re not heading out for a full day in the sun, but you really shouldn’t. This UV 50 formula from Clarins has made keeping my skin protected really easy this summer. I apply it right after my moisturizer and it goes on see-through, without getting greasy. The bottle is also small enough to tote around in your purse for easy reapplying.
$42 at Clarins counters and clarins.ca
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo
Even though my hair isn’t very thick, washing and styling it to my liking takes time—time that I only actually invest once or twice a week. But hot weather and working out several times a week make that a difficult situation. Enter the need for a good dry shampoo. This spray holds me over when I need to freshen up my mane. Just spritz at the roots (not on top of the hair—it doesn’t go on clear), wait a little bit and rub it in: and voilà, you’ve got an extra day before you need to actually shampoo.
$29 at Sephora and sephora.com
*I received press samples of all three products. As always, opinions are my own.
