3 Vichy Skincare Gems to Try

Vichy is a brand that I’ve loved ever since working behind the cosmetics counter at a pharmacy back when I was in school, and I was lucky enough to try several of its new products over the past few months. Here are three favourites I’ve really enjoyed using so far this summer.

Vichy-Aqualia-Essence-Boosting-WaterAQUALIA THERMAL Boosting Essence Water – Dynamic Hydration
This product is all about hydration, and replacing the water lost by your skin when cleansing your face. I apply it before my serum and moisturizer: it’s even supposed to amplify the results of any product you apply over it. It has a lovely, milky texture, and a subtle yet very enjoyable fragrance that really helps me relax as I’m applying it. Yes, it’s one more step in my beauty routine, but I don’t mind: it preps my skin so well that it reduces the amount of moisturizer I need to use. $29.25 for 200 ml.

Vichy-Idealia-EyesIDÉALIA Eyes – Eye Contour Idealizer
I’m a big fan of concealer… and any product that helps me use less of it. That scores major points for this eye cream, which helps illuminate shadows and minimize dark circles. I use it after my serum and moisturizer, and it instantly brightens my gaze, which is always nice in the morning, regardless of the season. I also has anti-aging properties to help with tiny lines under the eyes. $39.50 for 15 ml.

Vichy-Idealia-BB-CreamIDÉALIA BB Cream – Ideal Skin Quality and Complexion
I’ve tried a few BB creams in the past (including versions I bought in Asia), but this is my favourite so far, quite simply because it offers just the amount of coverage and hydration that I need. I don’t apply it all over my face: I focus on areas that have a bit of redness, or uneven colour, and it blends in perfectly. Then I use concealer wherever I need more coverage (hello, under-eye circles!). $37 for 40 ml.
