Face masks have been around for a long time, but it seems like over the last few years, their popularity has really sky-rocketed. Could it be the influence of Asian skincare and sheet-masking? Or the multi-masking trend?
Personally, I’m all for face masks. I love that they are meant to give you immediate results. Although some people like to use them at night as a way to relax, I prefer to use mine during the day before getting ready to go out to make sure my skin is in top condition. Although I do enjoy sheet masks, I use a good number of wash-off masks, too. So I thought I’d share three that I’m enjoying at the moment.
belif First Aid Anti-Hangover Soothing Mask
After trying The True Cream – Aqua Bomb, I knew I needed more belif products in my life. So I picked up this mask, and gave it a whirl. Its texture is a clear gel, with little capsules that burst when you apply it to your skin. It feels cooling, which is nice and soothing. Its star ingredient is chamomile, which has calming, anti-inflammatory properties, and contains antioxidants, which help fight signs of aging.
I turn to this mask when I’m feeling particularly tired and need a little energy boost to wake my skin and senses up. It has a slight brightening effect, too! It is said to relieve sensitive, dry, or itchy skin, but I can’t comment on those claims, as I don’t suffer from any of those conditions.

Giorgio Armani Crema Nera Extrema Terra Pantelleria
This mask is definitely one of the most luxurious that I own. It is meant to be a deep cleansing treatment, which boosts radiance and exfoliates gently. I’ve been trying to limit how often I exfoliate my skin, so I only turn to this golden tube once every few weeks, for a special treat when I want to pamper myself. It’s a great #SkincareSunday kind of product to get your best face on for the start of the week. It contains mineral powders, Barbary fig flower, and is enriched with kaolin clay and camellia oil.
I like that the formula is very creamy and thick, and smells very calming. It really hugs my skin while it’s on. It also doesn’t make my skin feel dried out after rinsing it off: my face feels rather nourished. My skin is super smooth after using it, and I find the fine lines on my forehead are less visible. And my skin really does look more radiant. For me, it’s a win!

LIERAC Hydragenist Moisturizing Rescue Mask
This mask smells lovely, and its texture is a balm-like gel. It’s meant to reoxygenate the skin and rehydrate it. Sounds like it’ll be perfect for my skin this winter! It contains a special complex and camellia oil, while its fragrance blends notes of rosewater with other flowers. The smell isn’t overpowering to me: just pleasant.
I love the texture of the mask upon application, and that it never dries down. The label says to simply remove the excess with a cotton pad, but I feel it leaves a slight film on my skin, so I prefer to actually rinse it off. Once it is off, though, I really find my skin looks refreshed and plumper.
