5 (Super) Easy Holiday Decorating Tips

holiday-wudz-2Although everywhere you turn, people are posting pics of their decked out tree and elaborate balcony lights, adding a little festive touch to your home really doesn’t have to be all that time-consuming or complicated.

If you’re looking to give your home a touch of holiday flair without spending days on the task, here are a few simple tips and suggestions that may help you out.

All you need is:

  • some ornaments;
  • some glass vases;
  • a few sets of lights;
  • ribbon in a colour of your choice.

Make a hurricane vase centrepiece.  Carefully place an assortment of ornaments in a hurricane vase and use it as a table centrepiece. Be eclectic and choose an assortment of different shapes and sizes of ornaments, or use just one or two types together. It’s up to you! You can also add a set of twinkle lights for added holiday glow.

Put those scented candles to use. Place a big candle on a glass plate or a small, flat mirror and add a few ornaments or bells around it. Mini ornaments work particularly well for this idea.

No tree? No problem. If you don’t have time to put up your artificial tree and don’t want to fuss with getting a real one, there no reason why you can’t put up those ornaments you have stashed away anyway. Why not simply hang some here and there around the house? A few strategically placed on the chandelier, on the bathroom mirror, or in house plants is an unexpected way to add a holiday feel to your décor.

A little ribbon goes a long way. Make some pretty bows and place them on lamps, chandeliers, or in house plants. You can also wrap large ribbon around columns and tie the ends with a bow.

Add some jingle bells to the knob or handle on your front door. They’ll look and sound festive when you walk through the door! And don’t forget, playing Christmas music goes a long way in terms of getting into the spirit…
