Beauty Souvenir from Japan: Evita Beauty Whip Soap

A few months ago while I was travelling in Japan, it dawned on me that I should start looking for some cool beauty products that are not sold here in North America to bring home and try out (which eventually led to refocusing the topics I’ve been covering here and on my Instagram account). Evita Beauty Whip Soap was one that I just had to find after seeing videos of it online.

I saw it a few times in drugstores while I was travelling through different cities, and finally picked it up in Tokyo before flying back to Montreal. I bought many other beauty products while I was in Japan, but this was the one I couldn’t wait to open and try when I got home. It’s a rose-scented foam facial cleanser, but the product comes out in the shape of a rose. Very “Japan”. Also very me. ?The importance of lather

While I was in Japan, I noticed that the lather seems to be considered an important part of face cleansing. For example, I noticed items like mesh nets and cleansing foam makers being sold, with the goal of making it easier to create a really frothy lather from your cleanser. Essentially, this product’s unique pump creates a rich foam for you, making your the cleansing process easier—and not to mention super cute and fun!

Trying out the cleanser

The formula contains royal jelly extract, collagen, hyaluronic acid, fermented rice extract, and rose water: all ingredients that are good for keeping your skin moisturized, and preventing the signs of aging. Yay!

I have to admit it took several tries to learn how much pressure to apply to the sides of the pump for just the right amount to come out. The foam is really rich, and the first few times I tried to use it, I ended up having waaay too much product for my face. It goes on pretty thick—a little bit like shaving foam—and has a nice rose scent. I’m currently loving rose-inspired beauty products, so I really enjoyed it.

It took a lot of splashing to get the foam completely rinsed off, but once I did, my skin felt clean and smooth, with no tightness whatsoever.

Minoue’s verdict

I bought this cleanser for about ¥ 1,500 in Japan, and I’ve seen it for different prices online. I’d definitely purchase it again, because it’s too much fun to pass up, and the product itself works for me, too.

For me, it’s a win-win! I’m also dying to get my hands on the new limited edition rose and strawberry version, whose foam comes out pink. ?

I would also consider bringing it back from Japan next time I go as a cool souvenir for one of my beauty-loving friends.

Have you seen videos of this cleanser online before? Would you try it?
