For many of us, one of life’s (sometimes) simple pleasures is decorating for whatever holiday is coming up within the next upcoming weeks. If you haven’t started putting out pumpkins and populating your home with black cats, don’t wait too long: Halloween is just a few weeks away!
Not feeling too inspired? Whether or not you actually love this ghoulish holiday, I’m sure infusing some vibrant orange and elegant black into your décor will help you get into the spirit a little more.
Here are a few ideas that may convince you that Halloween decorations can be chic and easy, too.
Throw an orange feather boa on that pretty chandelier. These are easy to find, and can be very inexpensive. Voilà! Instant Haloweenification.
Put out a sparkly wooden pumpkin… Staying away from cheap plastic-y decorations can make a world of difference.
…or paint a real one/carve an abstract pattern into it. Pinterest can be an endless source of inspiration.
Enlist your cat’s participation. A special Halloween collar or necklace, or even a pretty orange bow will do the trick. (And yes, the kitty may retaliate by attacking the feather boa on the chandelier, but it’s definitely worth it.)
Fill a glass bowl with orange and black jellybeans and set it out on the dining room table. It’ll help get you in the spirit even if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth.
