I have normal skin, and it very rarely reacts to anything. But I recently experienced a rash under my eyes that just wouldn’t go away, and thick, dry skin with pronounced wrinkles as a result, which made me looks 10 years older than I actually am. I was not pleased. But luckily, I was able to fix the problem!
After doing some research online, I realized that I was having a reaction because of something that had come into contact with the skin under my eyes. I never use cleansing wipes except for when I go on a trip… which was exactly the case when the skin started getting red. I also noticed that when I kiss my cat and get her fur in my eye, it gets really itchy. This probably did not help the situation.
I was able to remedy the problem with Polysporin Eczema Essentials 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream and Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment.
Although I’m sure it says somewhere that you’re not supposed to apply either of these products near your eyes, I still decided to try. After cleansing my face, I applied the Polysporin cream to the rash, and topped it off with a good layer of Aquaphor for an intense dose of moisture. (I was very careful about not getting the products in my eyes.)
I’m happy to report that after a couple of days, the rash has cleared away, the wrinkles it caused are gone, and everything is back to normal. Phew!
