Have you heard of Veriphy Skincare? If not, here’s why the Canadian skin care brand should be on your radar.
As you may (or may not) know, I get a lot of PR product samples. So when I actually finish a product until the very last drop, it always feels like a small victory… but it also means I really, really loved it. I’m happy to report that I’ve finished two out of three products in the Veriphy Skincare line, and I’m well on my way to finishing the third one.
Launched less than a year ago, the Canadian brand uses phytoglycogen, a plant-based version of glycogen, which is usually derived from shellfish. Glycogen, which energizes our cells to keep them working effectively, is found everywhere in the body, including the skin. How does applying products that contain it help our skin? By increasing elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid production, which results in better hydration, and smoother skin.
Here is what I thought of the three products in the lineup so far:
20/20 Eye Cream
This is the first of the products I tried, because I had heard good comments about it from other people working in beauty. Along with the phytoglycogen, the cream contains peptides, niacinamide, and cucumber extract to reduce wrinkles, brighten and nourish the skin, and reduce puffiness. It has absolutely no fragrance and the texture is a dream. But most importantly, I really saw an improvement in terms of the little fine lines I’m starting to have under my eyes after using it consistently!

Power Trip Facial Serum
Along with the phytoglycogen, the serum contains lactic acid, as well as an AHA fruit blend, which gently exfoliates the skin. It also contains arnica and calendula extracts for their soothing properties. I took this serum with me on a two-week trip a few months ago because the bottle seemed practical, and really loved the glow it gave me. I alternated with other serums because of the exfoliating acids, but even using it several times a week was never too much for my skin. I quite enjoyed its light, quick-absorbing texture, and how it helped brighten my complexion.

Self Absorbed Facial Moisturizer
This is the only product I haven’t finished, but that’s only because I started using it in early winter, and it’s been so cold and intense this year that I’ve turned to moisturizers with thicker, more comforting consistencies, just as a matter of preference. This moisturizer has a light texture that hydrates well, but I think I’ll find myself reaching for it more often in the spring. With hyaluronic acid, phytoglycogen, avocado oil, algae, green tea, and licorice root extracts, this concoction is suited to all skin types and very effective at keeping skin plump and moisturized.
